This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor and subcontractor invoices, maintaining organized records, and supporting the Accounting team with accounts payable and general administrative tasks.&nbsp; In addition, this role provides front-office and office assistance, helping ensure a smooth, professional experience for employees, vendors, and visitors. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting Support<ul><li>Receive, review, and accurately enter vendor and subcontractor invoices into QuickBooks and construction management software.</li><li>Match credit card transactions in QuickBooks with expense reporting software to ensure correct coding to job and accounting codes.&nbsp;</li><li>Communicate with vendors to obtain missing documentation or correct invoice errors.</li><li>Assist with coordinating check preparation and vendor check pick-ups.</li><li>Support the collection of information for audits.</li><li>Maintain organized physical and digital accounting and HR records.</li><li>Answer and route accounting-related phone calls and emails.</li><li>Provide general accounting administrative support as needed.</li></ul>Office support<ul><li>Welcome visitors and serve as a first point of contact for the office.&nbsp;</li><li>Receive, sort, and distribute physical mail.</li><li>Ensure the office and meeting rooms are clean, organized, and presentable.</li><li>Support internal events and employee engagement initiatives (supplies, catering, setup).</li><li>Order and manage office supplies, stationery, and cleaning supplies.</li><li>Manage inventory for new hire welcome kits and company merchandise for clients.</li></ul>Accounting leadership support<ul><li>Assist accounting leadership with calendar coordination and meeting preparation.</li><li>Support basic tracking and follow-up of action items</li><li>Coordinate travel arrangements and registrations for events as needed.</li></ul>SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS &amp; KNOWLEDGE&nbsp;<ul><li>Internship or 1+ year of relevant work experience.</li><li>Background or studies in accounting, business administration, or office management preferred.</li><li>Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Suite.</li><li>Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors.</li><li>Clear and professional interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Effective time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Willingness to engage in continuous learning and skill development.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Employment type: Part-time position (29 hs)</li><li>Compensation:&nbsp;$16.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus performance-based incentives.</li><li>Benefits:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Paid time off and vacation</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Structured training and ongoing support</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Clear growth opportunities in a supportive team environment</li></ul>About JLV Construction Founded in 2010, JLV Construction is a New Orleans-based company specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects, including new construction, renovations, and historic preservation.
